2017 Refugee Week

Refugee Council

Refugee Week is an annual event designed to raise awareness about the issues faced by refugees when they arrive in Australia and the positive impact they have on the communities they join.

Held from Jun 18 to 24, this year’s theme was “With courage let us all combine” and events were held across the country to mark this important week.

Closer to home the refugee community and the wider Logan community celebrated the week with a range of activities culminating in a community picnic held on July 1st  at Logan Civic Park.

The day was filled with fun, international food, dance and music and was organised by the Refugee Association of Logan.
