Data helps us make a difference

After months of hard work, the 2017 State of Logan’s Children and Families report is here – and it’s chock full of data and facts about the issues that matter for our kids.

From data on pregnancy and birth, home reading, kindy attendance through to NAPLAN performance – every data set we could find that tells us something useful about our kids is in there.

And because we know how important the family environment is, there’s lots of data on Logan households too: household income, employment, household composition, housing arrangements.

This is the first time in Australia (that we are aware of) that this amount of data on kids and fmailies in a single location has been collected and presented.

The findings in the Report can be used for so many purposes – from informing government policy to assisting schools to better understand their immediate community. We already know of community services and Government departments using this data to better tailor their programs and services for Logan families!

We held a series of data briefings this month, and will be publishing a key insights document in the very near future. If you’d like to know when this is available, please feel free to register your interest by emailing us at info@logantogether.org.au.

If you would like to review the full document, you can do so on our website. Also, feel free to email us with any specific questions, or if you would like to organise a special briefing with the Backbone team, please let us know via info@logantogether.org.au .
