FUN and FACTS about Kindy and Big School

Logan’s little ones had a great time at two separate Early Years Family Fun Days held in Woodridge and Kingston in July and August.

Both events attracted hundreds of families, carers and kids who enjoyed activities to delight kids aged 0 – 5 and included face painting, music, art and craft. A free BBQ was on offer to refuel hungry tummies after action packed mornings.

The Early Years Family Fun Day events are a community collaboration, organised through the Woodridge Early Childhood Educators Network and local schools to help introduce children and their carers to Kindy and Big School. The July event was hosted by the Family Place Woodridge, while the August event was held at Kingston East Neighbourhood Centre.

Carers who attended the events received a checklist with helpful information on enrolment procedures and requirements, accessing pre-prep programs at local schools and the importance of attending Kindy.

Representatives from local schools and Kindys and community services were on hand to help answer any questions carers or kids might have about starting Kindy as well as to offer tips on preparing kids for the transition to Big School.

If your little one is due to go to Kindy or Prep (aka Big School) in 2018, there is a lot of information available to help you understand the steps you need to take to enroll your child. Visit this link or to download our Early Years “Are you ready for Big School Resources,” go to our website.
