Kindy Conversations: Promoting the Early Years

We know the early years are important – more than we ever thought.

In collaboration with our partners, Logan Together has produced a range of collateral promoting Kindergarten and designed to be the basis for Kindy Conversations.

These conversations will assist parents navigate the enrolment process – from recognizing the benefits of early education, to identifying a kindergarten which suits them and their child, working out the financial assistance they are eligible for, through to being prepared for that first day.

Training sessions for kindy conversations are underway for those interested – and kindy conversations throughout the community are about to start.

Cathy Kenny, of Goodstart Crestmead Third Avenue, said she liked the idea of the conversations being part of a unified approach.

“A lot of people were given the opportunity to input into the collateral, and the result is something that is really useful while also being very simple for families – families are busy so if we can get to them and explain things straight away in a way which resonates, it will have a good outcome,” she said.

“With so many children not attending kindy in our area, we need to support families, and working together we can try and bridge the gap for those kids who transition into school.

“For us, it’s all about understanding the value of kindy, the real importance of early years education. That will help their children.”

We are anticipating many Kindy Conversations will take place over the coming weeks.

If you or any members of your team would benefit from the Kindy Conversations training, you can register your interest for the next session, on 5 December, by heading here.
