Origin Story

Central Logan emerges out of one of the most culturally diverse pockets in Australia. For many years, there has been a strong community want for improved outcomes. In 2025, the timing and readiness finally aligned. A large and diverse group of residents, services and leaders came together to explore how to begin. A 100-Day Challenge approach would kick-start the work, setting a bold framework for collective action.

Early Signs of Success

The community landed on a clear priority: ensuring that Central Logan’s parents, carers and caregivers have increased safe and trusted connections. Hundreds of conversations were held with diverse groups across the community. Research of national and international approaches was drawn upon, for inspiration of projects that had successfully strengthened relationships and wellbeing elsewhere.

Ways of Working

A steering group was formed to guide the work and, after community input, created eight projects that are running as part of the 100-Day Challenge. These projects are underpinned by data collection so impact can be measured and shared. More than 30 organisations have already collaborated as partners, ensuring the projects have sustainability and momentum well beyond the 100 days.

The initiative is anchored by a local backbone lead, working alongside trusted community groups and services. Together, they are building on Central Logan’s strengths, its extraordinary cultural diversity, its grassroots leadership and its willingness to work differently.
